Additional Fields for the Himalayan Database

The Autumn-Winter 2018 update adds four new fields to the MEMBERS database (MSMTNOTE1, MSMTNOTE2, MSMTNOTE3 and DEATHRTE).

These new fields are only added if you first download and install the Himal 2.2 (or later) version of the database program before applying the update. If you apply the update with an earlier version of the Himal program, the new fields will not be added.

The new MEMBERS fields are further defined as follows:

         MSMTNOTE1 – summit notes for the first ascent

         MSMTNOTE2 – summit notes for the second ascent

         MSMTNOTE3 – summit notes for the third ascent

                  0 – None

                  1 – Flight-assisted ascent

                  2 – Flight-assisted descent

                  4 – Re-ascent from high camp

                  These values are additive, e.g.:

                  3 = Flight-assisted ascent and descent

                  6 = Re-ascent from high camp with flight-assisted descent

The summit note fields are located in the same place on the Member screen as the ascent number fields. If summit notes are present, the member note fields are visible; otherwise the ascent number fields are visible. You can the toggle visibility of these two fields by right-clicking on the field label above.

         DEATHRTE – the route number in use by the deceased climber
